11. Sacred Geometry & the Ley Lines of the Earth
Last week’s article took a look at the evidence available linking Plato’s five geometric solids with the Earth’s ley lines. This week, I’d like to present the lists[1] of vortices formed by these ley lines and their designation as “Major,” “Minor,” and “Other Good-Energy Points.”
Major Vortices
Major Vortices
- Avebury, England (see discussion below)
- Ayers Rock, Australia
- Bimini- off Florida coast
- Calgary- Canada, including the area surrounding Lake Louise and Banff National Park.
- Easter Island- Chile
- Nepal
- Machu Pichu - The Andes, Sth America
- Philippines
- Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
- Sedona, Arizona .US
- Tibet, Lhasa
- Andorra small country wedged between France and Spain
- Armenia (formerly USSR)
- Azores 972 miles (1564 km) directly west of Lisbon, Portugal, includes nine islands (all volcanic in origin).
- Belize - country in the upper portion of Central America
- Canary Islands
- Egypt in particular the site of the Pyramids.
- Galapagos
- Georgia (formerly USSR)
- Greece and the Greek Island of Patmos
- Himalayas
- India many areas including the headwaters of the Ganges
- Indonesia
- Iraq
- Israel--Masada and other areas around the Dead Sea.
- Lebanon
- Madeira the whole island is a minor vortex
- Malaysia
- Mauritius--Island in the Indian Ocean
- Mexico -- particularly around Monterrey and Puerto Vallarta,
- Morocco -- Marrakech only
- Peru Lake Titicaca (this area, from the Peruvian Mountains right through to Alaska has the longest ley line on Earth)
- Reunion -- a French territorial island in the Indian Ocean
- Russia. -- a number of place in the Ural Mountains
- Seychelles -- series of islands north of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean
- South Africa- Okavango Delta
- Spain- All the Sierra including Granada, Cordoba, as well
as Almeria and Sierra Morena. - Switzerland - Zermatt, Leukerbad, almost all of the Valais
area, and Basle - Japan Osaka and the thermal-springs areas.
- USA - Mt. Shasta, Yellowstone National Park, & the area between Houston and Dallas in Texas
- Note too, there are many vortices beneath the sea, including 8 of the 10 vertices aptly named the Devil’s Graveyards--noted for the disappearances of ships and planes
Notice how these 10 area hover around the Tropic of Cancer in the north and the Tropic of Capricorn in the south. Notice too their geometric distribution.
Heading the list of Major Vortices is Avebury in Wellshire, England, which is situated almost twenty-miles north of the famous Stonehenge. In a website article entitled Codes of Avebury Henge, a thorough analysis of the geometry encoded by the ancients into the Avebury megalithic structure are set forth. They demonstrate unequivocally that the measurements used to construct the Avebury Henge were in direct ratio to the standards used by the Greeks, the Assyrians, the Hebrews, the Romans, the ancient Swedish and Germanic civilizations--only some 2000 to 3000 years earlier.

To the left is a satellite view of the Avebury Henge. This ancient structure covers a circular area of 28.5 acres with a diameter of over a quarter of a mile. Today it still include a number of massive stones weighing up to ninety tons. The ditch has a depth of about 33 feet (10 meters) while the bank rose to a height of around 20 feet (6 meters) |
David Furlong, author of an on-line article entitled The Keys to the Temple and a book entitled Working with Earth Energies, presents the diagram of the Avebury Henge below and to right. Point E is where a huge stone called the Obelisk, which has sadly now disappeared, was placed. Being over 20 feet tall, it was used to cast a shadow at the setting of the sun at winter solstice that aligned with the Western Entrance (point C on the diagram). The Eastern Entrance (point T on the diagram) was aligned with the rising sun on the day in May significant in the ancient Celtic calendar.
When lines are drawn from B to C to D and Pythagorean triangle is formed with a ratio of 3:4:5. Doing the math, the ratio of AB:DC = 19.12. 19 is the number of years to lunar metatonic cycle.
It is reasoned through archeological evidence that the inner circle to the south was the Solar Temple. At its center ws the Obelisk mentioned above. There were 30 stones numbered in order from 1 due east to 30 adjacent on its north side. The northern inner circle was once a set of concentric circles. |
There is also evidence that a third smaller circle existed near the north-west entrance at point S, with the center being at point F, in alignment with the centers of the other two inner circles. Some speculate that the three circles mirrored the three stars of Orion’s belt, much as the three pyramids at Giza were claimed to do.
Leading out the south gate at point B, was a ceremonial path or roadway leading to Overton Hill where another set of concentric stone circles called the Sanctuary forms what is believed to be the head of a ceremonial snake formed across the landscape. These ancient monuments were deliberately positioned in order to align with each other, astronomical observations and the natural landscape features of the region of Salisbury.

The Sanctuary is positioned exactly 1.4° North of Stonehenge, and on the same line of longitude, suggesting a placement of these two sites was deliberate, encompassing earthly measurements. Further, according to archaeologist Alex Whitaker, there are indications that this form of placement was carried out at other prominent British sites, extending out from Stonehenge. Whitaker, on his website called Ancient-Wisdom, suggest that the Avebury/Stonehenge complex make up the remains of a prehistoric Meridian. But why here, in this region?
The question of “Why here?” is answered succinctly with the fact that Avebury Henge is one of the Major Vortices of the world. This fact would play strategically into all the ceremonial activities that took place here. The fact that sacred geometry was used in the constructions of these sites and that these terrestrial site held celestial significance supports the well known saying “as above--so below,” with its reciprocal statement implied.
In the next article, we’ll see yet another association to the Avebury Henge that strengthens its relationship to sacred geometry.
